Measure for Dresses
A dress with the ideal size is crucial in enhancing your appeal. First, don’ t consider taking an exact measurement for your body to be difficult or time-consuming. You can ask a seamstress for help. Or just do this with your friend within minutes. Follow us and you will know how to accurately measure for your dress below.
For Standard Dresses
Bust
This is not your bra size!
Wear a bra
Relax arms at sides
Pull tape across the fullest part of the bust
Waist
Find the natural waist
This is the smallest part of the waist
Usually about 1 in. above belly button
Keep tape slightly loose to allow for breathing room
Hips
Find the widest part of the hips
Usually about 7 in. below natural waist
Tape should brush across both hipbones
Shoulder
From the edge of the shoulder socket, measure across the back to the same point on the other shoulder.
Hollow to Floor (Bare Foot)
Stand straight with feet together
Measure in bare feet
Begin at the hollow space between the collarbones and pull tape straight down to the floor
To fit high heels, we’ll add an extra 5 cm onto custom-sized floor-length dresses and dresses with trains
Height
Stand straight with feet together
Measure in bare feet
Begin at the top of the head and pull tape straight down to the floor
For Bridal Jacket/ Mini Wraps
Bust
Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust.
Waist
From the edge of the shoulder socket, measure across the back to the same point on the other shoulder.
Arm Length
Measure from your shoulder point to the wrist.
Armscye
Measure from the top of the shoulder, down the front of the shoulder, under the arm pit, and up the back of the shoulder.
For Maternity Dresses
Upper Bust
Measure around the highest part of your chest directly under the arms.Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides.
Bust
Not your bra size! Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust. Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. You must wear a bra when taking this measurement.
Under Bust
Measure immediately underneath the breasts (around the chest).
Around Belly
Measure around the fullest part of your belly keeping the tape measure a little loose for comfort.
Hips
This is the widest part of your hips, across the hipbone. Measurement is taken approximately 7 inches below the natural waistline. This measurement is not needed for full gowns.
Hollow to Floor
This is the length from your hollow ( the hollow just under your neck ) to your heels. (Take the tape from your front, with bare foot ). You should stand upright and your feet should keep together.
For Flower Girl Dresses
Bust
Around chest at the fullest part of the breast
Waist
The smallest part of waist
Hips
The fullest part of hips,approximately 7 inches below waist
Arm Length
From shoulder point to wrist
Hollow To Floor
Measure from hollow through navel to floor with shoes
Shoulder
Measure from the edge of the shoulder socket, across the back to the same point on the other shoulder.
